I’ve worked with wood longer than I’ve worked with any other material. My father and grandfathers were woodworkers, carpenters and stonemasons. Growing up in the plains of Nebraska, I was surrounded by a culture of self sufficiency where being able to make what you needed was a significant asset, if not a necessity for survival.

My father regularly went to his workshop to build cedar chests, tables and other pieces. He did this into his 90’s and I can only hope to have the stamina and creative spirit to do the same.
